Be What You Are
“Accept and appreciate who you are
and make the most of what you have”. Whatever positive or negative attributes
we have, we must embrace it, we must truly love ourselves first before we can
totally give love to other people. We have a saying, “You cannot give what you
don’t have” you can’t truly love and accept other people’s flaws if you
yourself cannot appreciate the real you. According to Hoodie Allen, “It’s okay
to say you’ve got a weak spot. You don’t always have to be on top. It’s better
to be hated, than loved for what you’re not” You don’t need to fake yourself
just to impress others, let them see who you truly are and accept the real you.
In connection to this, read the
poem below entitled “Be What You Are” to know how can you fully accept and love
yourself.
If you can’t be a pine on the top of the hill,
Be a shrub in the valley –
But be the best little shrub at the side of the rill.
Be a bush if you can’t be a tree.
It doesn’t mean that we are a
lesser being if we become “the alternative”, “the second option” or “the spare”
that will only be used if the first choice is not available. Remember, spares
are VERY important, they play the role of being always there when you need them
especially in times of emergency.

There’s big work to do, and there’s
lesser to Do
And the task we must do is NEAR.
If you can’t be a highway, then
just be a trail;
If you can’t be the sun, be a star;
It isn’t the size that makes you
win or fail –
Be the BEST of whatever you are.

All of us have a different mission or roles to do in this world,at yun po ang pinapahayag ng author sa atin.Yes I believe in this's ksi po Ginawa Tayo ni God para gampanan ang ating task sa Mundo Hindi naman Tayo gagawin ni God Kung wla Tayo ng mission, kailangan na gawin ang ating mission.

We need to be best whatever we are so we can easily do tha tasks or mission that God thought us. And for me I think that the author also wants to put across is that we are all different.

The author wants to tell us that all of us have different missions and tasks. I believe in this because God created us to fulfill the missions and tasks He has given us. God created us the way he want it to be so we must be thankful for it because of the unique personalities that may help us to fulfill our mission.

ReplyDeleteThe author wants to tell or show us that God made everyone here to have a special mission and if we can't do it don't be other people or copy them we need to remain strong and accomplish this mission God gave us. If you can't be better remain who you are. And lastly it doesn't matter if you lose or win it just matters when you did your best at it

I believe in this message because right now, people right now don't want to lose to each other. They always want to be on the top.For instance, in a theater play, the members always anticipate the leading roles while neglecting the supporting roles, when in truth, the story cannot be a good one when there are no supporting characters.The same goes to the youth in our society today. They always want to be the center of attention, so they conform to the society and hide their true self. They will not tell something about themselves they thought will be a ridiculous thing to their friends, so they hide it to avoid being ignor by others.

I may not be the best daughter on my family, but I can be the best of who I am by honoring, respecting and loving my parents unconditionally and by being the helpful, forgiving and underatanding sister to my sibling. I can also be the best student I am by simply living and following the rules of my school and doing my best to learn in a way I can. I can be a friend the best way I can by always there at my friends all the time and by being honest of who I really am at them.
